Summer Happenings

Here's what we've been up to since the 4th of July:

Mariner's Game w/ Hanni cousins

I was surprised how many people were there. Blake and Shawna came up, Jeff & Jana and all their cute kids drove out from Alabama, Kim & Angela came out from Utah with Gage & Kyah, Kylie & Mark drove out from Eastern Washington, Janelle, Brad & Hunter came too!
The girls miss their Kimmie

We started swimming lessons and I was super impressed by the instructors. They were actually teaching the kids strokes instead of just playing games in the water.
Amy was a little timid at first, but then she got into it.

Even though Hallie wasn't in lessons yet, she had to wear her swimsuit too.
Samantha was such a little fish! She really surprised me and she was actually doing the crawl stroke and back stroke. She loved to go off the rope swing, and even did the diving board. She did awesome! It's always so exhilarating to see your child succeed.

There is a petting zoo and splash pad at the place where their swim lessons are, so we have visited there a few times.

Lake Stevens had their annual Aquafest with a carnival. I was so bummed I missed the boat parade. I guess people decorate their boats like floats in a parade and toss out candy to people on the docks. Lake Stevens is a really cool place.
Amy loves the Ferris Wheel. Such a little daredevil.

Daddy and his girls.

Laura came out for a visit and we went to Jetty Island in Everett.

This picture makes me laugh
The kids found a spot to dig before we got on the ferry

Riding the ferry
Hallie laid down in the sand right when we got there to catch some rays.

We left right about when the tide came in. I have never seen the tide come in so fast ever in my life! It was kind of cool, but I am sure glad the kids weren't out there when it did.

Freezing kids ready to leave. Remember when you were little and it didn't matter how cold the water was? Ya, it does now.

Splash pad, again!

We also headed down to the beach at Seaside, Oregon.

The cousins and Leah riding the train. It was pretty cute.
Slumber Party!

And of course, we had to show them our favorite place, Kayak Point.

At the Mukilteo Lighthouse

Hallie biffed it about 2 minutes before we took this picture and scraped her knees, but we still got her to smile!
This summer has been the BEST!! We have loved all our visitors, finding new places to explore, playing in the water, and most especially, NOT BEING PREGNANT!!! I think that last one rings true for everyone, not just me. I'm a much more fun mom now!
