One more year

So today is my 29th birthday. My mother-in-law sent me a card with $29 in it and I laughed and said, "Hey Brandon, your mom thinks I'm 29!" Oh wait, I am 29--shoot! I thought for sure I was turning 28. That means I only have one more year of my 20's left. Where did the time go??? I think I spent most of it being pregnant, but I would not trade those babies for anything. I sure love being a mom--even when it's hard sometimes. I can't wait until I get another little baby to love and squeeze--especially if she's fat. I love the fat ones! So even though the first thing I did this morning was throw up at 6:30 am, I'm still happy because that means my baby is healthy and she will be joining our family soon. We can't wait!

3 weeks....

...and counting. I really haven't done a thing to get ready for this baby until this weekend when I realized that I only have 3 weeks left. So I finally got the baby room ready. I haven't put up the letters for her name yet, because we're still waiting to see what we will name her for sure and if in fact she is a girl. Amy is still convinced it's a boy! Well, if it is a boy, this is what he will be coming home to:
All I have is PINK PINK PINK PINK!!! So let's pray it's a girl! Here's to tomorrow--less than 3 weeks to go!

Happy Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween this year, despite my largeness. I made these spider cupcakes for Samantha's pre-school party on Thursday and I was surprisingly happy with how they turned out!Samantha has been wearing her witch costume all month and couldn't wait to go to her party.
My dad was actually able to drive out for the weekend from California, so we had tons of fun with him. I made him carve a pumpkin because Brandon doesn't like to. We carved them right before Halloween dinner--talk about procrastinating!
Amy thought she would sample some of the pumpkin guts and wasn't happy when I started laughing at her!
We had taco soup with rolls and witch's brew beverage for dinner. It was yummy!
Here's my little witch! Apparently Amy did NOT want her picture taken all night because pretty much every one she has a grumpy face. What kid could be grumpy when you're getting candy???
So if you can't tell, Samantha was a witch--her skirt lit up too--Amy was Cinderella, I was a woman in labor and Brandon was my doctor. Not too creative this year, but oh well! We went trick-or-treating to Samantha's little friend, Dane's house and then he wanted to come with us so we ended up spending the rest of the night with his family.
By the end of the night, Samantha was so tired. She was sitting in the stroller and said, "Mom, I want to go to bed!" Boy I have the strangest kids! Oh, and don't worry about them eating too much....I'm pretty sure Brandon stole most of their candy. He's the biggest kid of all!

Girl's Night

I sure love these girls! These are my old roommates from Liberty Square (Katie, Shayla, Beka and Nikki) and we all still live in the same state, so we get together every once in a while for a much needed girl's night! Last Saturday, we spent the day in Salt Lake and basically ate all day! Here's the first stop: Sweet Tomatoes. Then we headed to get pedicures--a much needed one for me because I can hardly reach my toes as it is. I was going to post a picture of Nikki and I actually getting our toes done, but my belly looked just way to large. So here's the after picture of our pretty toes. I had the hardest time taking this picture because my belly kept getting in the way. Can you tell I'm ready to have this baby soon????
Then we went to Tai Pan and just wandered around without the worry of kids. Oh, and got free samples of fudge and gelatto. After that we went to Training Table and then the girls surprised Nikki and I by taking us to the Melting Pot for dessert because our birthdays are this month.
It was my very first time there and it was delicious! Never mind the fact that we had been eating all day.....I still had room for dessert!
After that we headed up to Park City and stayed the night. Beka's mom gets really good deals on a hotel up there, so thanks Paula! There was a hot tub in the room, but it was really funny. I think it's the deepest thing I've ever seen, but not so wide. All the girls still fit in it though--that's because I wasn't in there! We played games and actually fell asleep relatively early for us--it must have been all that food!
In the morning, we enjoyed a nice big breakfast and headed home. Never mind the fact that I threw up twice on the side of the freeway--sorry you had to see that ladies...and anyone else that may have been driving by. I promise this baby will come out eventually and I will hopefully get back to normal! We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again!

Scarecrow Festival

Thanks to our friends, Josh & Dana, we were able to score free tickets to the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point, so we went for Family Night a few weeks ago. They had so many things to do that we couldn't fit it all in, but the girls had a blast! Never mind the fact that Brandon put Amy in the car without shoes, so her little toes froze all night! The first thing we did was hit the petting zoo because Samantha wanted to ride a pony. First we checked out the cute little goats. Amy kept putting her little fingers in trying to poke them, and one big goat followed Samantha everywhere she went.
What's up with the duct tape on the goat's horns?
Samantha wanted to ride the biggest pony because she got first pick, but once it actually started going, she was a little nervous! Amy on the other hand had this cute little minuature pony and thought it was the best thing ever. She DID NOT want to get off!
Giving kisses.

After the pony ride, we went to the blow up toys. Brandon took Samantha and Amy down the big blow up slide and Samantha didn't like it one bit. She said it was too squishy!
Then we went to the spider race-way to ride these cars. We found out that there weren't 2 seats, so we had to sit the girls in our laps. Ask me how fun it was to have Samantha on my lap and pedal the car. They already had to move the seat back for me to fit my belly in--nice! Needless to say, I got a good workout.
After that we rode the train and went home. We had so much fun. Thanks Dana!
