BOYZ II MEN!!!

Last night Brandon and I went to the Boyz II Men concert at the Scera Shell. If you weren't there, you totally missed out! I had NO idea that they were still so popular because the ENTIRE shell was filled with people. We got there about 1/2 hour before it started and it was really hard to find a spot to sit. Pretty soon every inch of grass was covered.
While we waited, they had their own version of American Idol and the 6 finalists performed. The winner was this little 11 year old girl that had a power house voice. She sang "I will always love you" and I thought the song was too big for someone so little, but she had the crowd all up on their feet cheering her on.Then the Boyz came out and rocked the house with Motown Philly. I guess one of the members got diagnosed with scoliosis, so there were only 3 of them, but their voices blend so well, I couldn't even tell the difference.
They even performed a bunch of old motown songs ranging from the Beatles to that one song Jackie Chan sings on Rush Hour. "What it isn't good for, absolutley nothing! Hoo! Haa!" Do you know the one I'm talking about? I loved how they danced their motown style too.
This picture is right before they sang "Mama" which I really don't like that much. But, they told everyone to get their cell phones out and everyone thought they just wanted a bunch of lights, but then they said to call your mom and dedicate the song to her. One guy even held his phone out to the stage and one of the BOYZ grabbed it and talked to the guy's mom!
Oh ya, then they sang "I'll make love to you" and handed out roses to all the girls in the audience. It was kind of funny. All in all, I think this was the most entertaining concert I've ever been too.....and I've been to a lot! I was shaking my prego belly with all the rest of them and had a great time. Oh ya, and Brandon was singing even louder than me. I bet we were quite the sight! Thanks Josh & Dana for watching the girls! We had SO MUCH FUN reliving our high school days!!!

Bridal Veil Falls

When Brandon picked me up from the airport a few weeks ago, he told me that Shawna and Leah might be coming later that week. Well, they ended up coming sooner than that and we were so excited that we could spend time with them. Brandon had a work conference in Park City for 3 days that week and we got to go up and visit him at his hotel and go swimming. I even got to spend the night while Shawna and Leah took the girls home. It was so nice to relax and have a little break. Later that night, Laura came down with little Zack. We decided to go to Bridal Veil Falls the next day.
The water was freezing, but it felt so nice on my hot feet.

I think Samantha loved it more than anyone else. She was tromping all around the water and throwing rocks in everywhere. Here's the remains of the restaurant that burned down a few weeks ago. So sad.Grandma and Zacky.Amy finally agreed to check out the water after just hanging out at the edge throwing rocks in.See, it's not so bad!My girls never look at the camera at the same time. What little stinkers!

It was so nice to be out in nature. Sometimes I think I take for granted how close we live to the canyon--it's so beautiful! Thanks for the idea Laura!

California Girls Days 1-2

The girls and I had the chance to go to California to see my family for a week before Amy turned 2. We literally flew home the night before her birthday so that we wouldn't have to pay for her plane ticket! My mom and Randy picked us up from the airport and we had a family dinner that night with my brothers and celebrated Amy's birthday.

Here's Amy right before digging into dessert!
Cousins eating cake!
I don't think anyone here was excited to get their picture taken! These are my 2 brothers, Darin & Daryl, my step-dad, Randy, my mom and my sister-in-law, Gemma.
After eating all that food, we walked to the park to burn off some calories!
Then we got home and Amy opened her present from Grandma....a new baby! She LOVES babies and was very excited. She kept saying the baby was crying and so she would run to the fridge and pretend to fill the baby's sippy cup with milk and run back and give it to her. I hope she is going to be that excited to help with our new real baby!

California Girls Days 3-4

The next 2 days were spent in the pool and playing in the backyard at my mom's house. We had some nice relaxing time and made cookies together and just played!

On Tuesday night, we met our good friends from our married student ward who moved to Sacramento, Bill & Beka. It was so good to see them and catch up! We met them at Red Robin because they don't have any close to where they live and they miss it from living in Utah. There was the Red Robin mascot walking around going to each table, and Amy wanted NOTHING to do with him! She gave him the crustiest look ever that said "Stay Away!" But then they got balloons and everything was great again! We miss you Bill & Beka! Thanks so much for meeting and treating us for dinner!

California Girls Day 5

On Thursday, we spent the day with my dad. It was his birthday, so it worked out really well that we got to be there. He picked us up and took us to his new house where he has a dog named Buddy, lots of fish and a cat. The girls loved playing with the dog and I can't wait to have a big house one day where we can actually get one. For those of you who don't know, my dad recently bought a horse and so the girls found this cowboy hat and a horse to ride on over at his house. They were so excited to go see the real thing!
My dad and one of my best friends that I grew up with happen to be in the same ward at church, so he took me over to her house. I haven't seen Mara since Samantha was a baby, so it was SO fun to catch up with her. She has a little girl named Lizzie who is about 5 months older than Amy. The girls had fun playing together while Mara and I chatted away.
Oh ya, did I mention that she is pregnant too? She is a little less than 2 months behind me, but you can't even tell! Does anyone else see anything wrong with this picture? Perhaps my large belly and chest and she's still skinny! I miss her, but it was so fun to get together while I was out there.
After that, we had a BBQ at my dad's house and my brother came over. Then we all headed over to see his horse. There are a bunch of horses there, so we got to see them all and feed them some carrots. The girls LOVED it--especially Samantha!

My favorite horse was Leroy. He was so sweet and having him eat out of your hand made it tickle.

There was also a baby horse and its mother--so cute!
And this was the biggest pile of poop that I have ever seen--gross! After the horses, we went back to my dad's house and had ice cream cake and sang Happy Birthday. It was a fun exhausting day and I was glad the girls fell asleep on the way home!

California Girls Day 6

We went to Stinson beach on a Friday and the girls did pretty well in the car. I held on for dear life as we drove the windy 9 mile road to get there. The last time we went in the car to the beach when I was pregnant, I had to pull the car over to throw up. This time was much better! We had a picnic right when we get there and the seagulls instantly became our best friends. The girls thought it was fun to throw them bread and watch them catch it in the air.
Little beach bunnies!
They couldn't wait to play in the sand before we even got down to the water! Except, when we actually got there, all Amy said was, "Dirty, dirty, dirty!!!" And she didn't want to get down. What a girl!
Samantha loved every minute and went right to work with her shovel and bucket.
I think Samantha finally convinced Amy that the ocean was fun, so she followed her sister into the water........and then got knocked down on the first wave. I had to jump and pick her up. There went that idea!

Samantha's turn for tears. I think a wave knocked her down too.
Amy finally realized that even though the sand was in fact "dirty", she could still have fun!

We love the beach!
You can tell Amy's having fun when the tongue comes out!
Here's our sad attempt at a sand castle....where was Brandon when I needed him??? Then Samantha demolished it and made a new one with Randy.

Back in the ocean again!
Randy buried Samantha in the sand and she thought it was so fun! All in all, we had a great time, minus a few tears! Then we stopped at In-n-Out on our way home for some yummy food. I love that place!
