Summer Vacation - Crescent City, Redwoods, CA

Next, we were on our way to the Redwoods. We stopped along the way to try and find Crater Lake, but found a volcano instead. This is what Brandon thought about it:

Then we stopped for lunch on the side of the road and found this really cool river with an awesome chasm. There were chipmunks everywhere and the girls loved it.

My pretty girl.

Grandpa and the girls.

Then Brandon and Cody had to of course run and jump on the tree. They think they are so funny.

We made it to Crescent City and found the KOA. Our campground was so cool and there were lots of Redwoods for the kids to play on.
Little cute Amy.

The girls and cousin Zachy.
Shawna made a fabulous dutch oven breakfast and we couldn't get enough of it!
One day, we went to the lighthouse and tide pools. Samantha loved it! She was so excited to find hermit crabs.

Laura, Blake and Leah, just chillin.

Hallie loved the wind. She is a beach baby already.
There was a little seal and sea lion rescue place right by the tide pools where they help them recover before sending them back into the wild.
The next day we went to The Trees of Mystery. But first, we had to drive through a tree.
And walk through it.
The hike was easy enough for the girls and it was so amazing to be around those huge gigantic trees. It made you feel so small.

Here's Amy running under a tree.

This is the Brotherhood tree. I've never seen anything so enormous in my entire life.
Brandon's attempt at trying to jump on it.
This was something new from the last time I'd been here. They now have a tram that takes you up to the summit of the Redwoods and the view is spectacular. You are surrounded by hundreds of thousands of trees and you can even see the ocean. Brandon wasn't quite so sure about the tram--he's not the biggest fan of heights.
Here we are at the top.

Shawna wasn't too sure about the way down--not liking heights must run in the family!Aww, aren't we cute? Notice Hallie's face--pretty funny stuff.Sitting on Paul Bunyon's foot.If you're ever looking for a cool place, you should come check this out!
